We encourage:

Freedom: Each child is unique, and we respect and value their individuality. This idea is present in all the decisions taken in our school life. Therefore, diapers and pacifiers are dropped when each child is ready, naps apply only until the child needs, the adjustment to school food is carried out according to different rhythms, there is space for the development of individual skills in different rhythms and degrees, the children are encouraged to freely express their beliefs and faiths, or the absence of them, respecting all gods, fairies and elves: assuming difference, and never giving it a negative connotation. Overall, each child is respected for who he/she is.

Respect: Respect is our main foundation, we practice it and we constantly encourage its practice. We choose an organic diet because we respect nature and our bodies; we have our own organic vegetable garden for the same reasons; we say No to aggression, no to insults, because we respect ourselves and because we respect others; we say No to punishment because it doesn’t emotionally respect the individual; we say Yes to children with special needs because we respect the individuality of each child and we respect diversity; we say Yes to recycling because we have to ensure this planet’s continuity; we say Yes to the children’s participation in the school daily decisions, because we respect them; we say Yes to the children’s involvement in their own development because it’s mainly about them; we say Yes to the parents’ involvement in school because they help us grow; we say Yes to the exercise of discipline through love because it is the best nourishment for any child.

Monitoring of development: The classroom team and the psychologists supervise the development of each child, making daily registrations of situations they observe and analyzing them according to developmental indicators. These reports are studied in weekly meetings, and they allow us to follow each child and to adapt more suited strategies and activities for the holistic and harmonic development of the child and the group. This supervision is reported quarterly to parents in individual meetings. From this joint assessment some specific need may come up, which can be referred to for evaluation and/or support, internal or external. Example: speech therapy, emotional support, psycho pedagogical support, etc.

Parents’ involvement: Our aim is to promote the participation of parents and relatives in the child’s education process, because we feel this can contribute to the emotional stability and security of the child. We want parents and relatives to be active in their children’s school life, not mere observers. In 2010, we created the Parents Association to encourage the parents’ participation in the school’s daily issues.

Pets at School: There is an animal in each classroom, to encourage the child’s contact with animals. The children are responsible for feeding them, cleaning them and taking them home on weekends.

Playground: Outdoor activities are included in the children’s daily routine, in any season. We have different materials and toys in our large playground, to stimulate various games and explorations.
